HOW DAMAGE WORKS

Every attack uses this rule:

damage =
unit damage × HP × (100% − cover)

UNIT DAMAGE

A fixed % per attacker→target pair (0–120%). It's the share of a full kill (10 HP) the attacker deals at full HP against an open tile.

Tank → Inf = 75%
M.Tank → Tank = 105%

HP

Wounded units hit weaker, proportional to HP. A Tank at HP 5 hits at 50% of its strength.

COVER (target's terrain)

−10%plain · road
★★−20%forest
★★★−30%city
★★★★−40%mountain · HQ

EXAMPLE

Tank (HP 10) attacks Inf on a forest tile:

75% × 100% × (100%−20%)
= 60% → 6 HP dealt

COUNTER-ATTACK

If the target survives and is in melee range, it hits back. Counter uses target's remaining HP and the attacker's cover.

Indirect units (Artillery 2–3) never counter, and can't move and fire the same turn.
